There is no escaping reason, no escaping purpose, because we both know without purpose we wouldn't exist. It is purpose that created us, purpose that connects us, purpose that pulls us, purpose that guides us & drives us. It is purpose that defines us, purpose that binds us. We are here for a reason. We are here to make visible in the earth what was made invisible in us; The Glory of God.
The question becomes why are you here? Imagine what life would be like if we answered that question from a bird's eye view (Why are we here on earth?) as well as from a worms eye view (Why are we currently in the situation we are in?), and really searched within ourselves for the truth. What would we find? I believe we would find the both the root problem and the solution to the problems in our lives.
Think about this for a moment. There are thousands of self help books in the world, and many of them actually do help people solve problems, but with all this help why are there so many of us still needing help? The problem is we have more than enough books that help people, but not enough people who “SEE” they need help. Our major issue isn't with books. Our major issue is our inability or unwillingness to come to a place of "seeing" we need help. Why would I change if I don't believe there is anything wrong?
I would ask, do you know what your purpose is? I believe it is impossible not to see a problem with your life when the evidence of your actions don’t align with your purpose. I also believe it is very difficulty to "see" specifically what our problems are without purpose, and it’s very difficult to care about whether or not the problem gets fixed because without purpose nothing matters.
I've often read on shirts and have heard this statement from different people who said “I am a work in progress”, but I often ask what will you look like at the end of that progress? I have yet to hear an answer.
With this I wonder, are the challenges of life an indication that our life is without purpose?

My purpose is to be the image of God that He Purposed in His desire of Himself as His Expression within Creation. If the goal according to the Bible is that we allow Christ to Live in and through us; what would that look like? If the Bible says that Christ told the people he how has seen Me has seen The Father; would we not also become the Divine Expression of The Father according as He sent His Will forth when we were but a thought to Him? There are many things that He may have desired we experience as co-creators in the earth, but surely, there is ONLY 1 purpose for each of us. That we be the image of God that He Purposed in His desire of Himself as His Expression within Creation.
ReplyDeleteI agree there is one purpose in life and that is to teach the next generation to be suited to find answers that our generations questions have left them with. My question to you is this about God and the great mystery of life? Why can't we teach the next generation that we don't know yet and we are trying to learn everything we can so that maybe one day they can answer some of life's riddles rather than teaching them we do know and it is God's work. Whatever happened to just telling the truth " We Don't Know". I am not saying the belief in God is wrong. I am just saying it is no different than the theory of evolution, as in that's what they are, theories. Why can't we teach what we do know, and explaining these different theories about our existence?
